The Roman Baths
The Roman Baths, in the heart of Bath, consists of the remarkably preserved remains of one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world. The city’s unique thermal springs rise in the site and the baths still flow with natural hot water. The Roman Baths attract over one million visitors a year – making it one of the most visited heritage attractions in the United Kingdom. In 2011 the Roman Baths completed a £5.5 million redevelopment to bring the best of modern interpretation to the site, transform its accessibility and preserve it for the next 100 years. This is the first phase of an on-going programme of development that will take place over the next seven years.
