Beckford’s Tower

Back to Blog

Built between 1826 and 1827, the 120-foot Beckford’s Tower is a beautiful building – crowned with an octagonal lantern and decorated with gilt gold columns that was once home to one of the greatest collections of books, furniture and art in Georgian England. Now it stands as the only surviving example of William Beckford’s great architectural achievements. The spiral staircase with its 154 steps is a must see.
